Being a part of Erskine Stewart Melville means that our Nursery reaps all the benefits of a private Junior School. We have access to a huge range of opportunities, teachers and first-class facilities beyond the classroom for our youngest learners.
Specialist Subjects
In Nursery, we gently introduce children to a range of new experiences which are then built upon as they move through the Junior School. Each week, our nursery children enjoy lessons in Music, P.E. and Digital Learning. They enjoy regular Forest Kindergarten sessions in our 40 acres of outdoor space. They also take regular trips to the ‘big library’, (the Junior School Library) where they enjoy choosing and listening to stories with our Librarian. Our littlest learners can often be seen eagerly pulling their mini-trailer full of books back to their Nursery room.

Award-Winning Music & Drama Programme
Our nursery children also benefit from our award-winning Music and Drama programme. Alongside weekly music lessons, a highlight for both our children and parents is the pre-school Nativity show, complete with costumes, props and many a giggle from everyone involved.
Other term highlights include learning about the emergency services through Safety Week (the police car and fire engines are always a big hit), class baking, and even exploring mindfulness and learning yoga with our external wellbeing experts.
