Our Varied Roles

We offer a diverse range of subjects to our students which provides a variety of Teaching roles as well as Classroom roles and Student Support roles, including wraparound care and holiday club roles.

In addition to Teaching roles, we offer a wide range of roles within Central Support, from Janitorial roles and Careers Coordinators, to Data Analysts and Archivists. These roles provide essential support to the day-to-day running of the schools

Our Careers Staff are responsible for liaising with students across the Secondary Schools to facilitate discussions and motivate students to work towards their goals. These Staff members work effortlessly to spark and harness the enormous levels of creativity, passion and drive in our students.

Our Janitorial, Estates and Facilities teams are instrumental in ensuring our historic sites are running smoothly and to a high standard. The hardworking staff members approach each and every varied task with ease and professionalism which enables life at Erskine Stewart Melville to operate smoothly with safety and cleanliness at the forefront.

The Development Team and Archivists at Erskine Stewart Melville play an important role in preserving the history of the School as well as forming and maintaining strong relationships with funders, charities and local initiatives. The Development Team organises events across the globe for formal pupils and appreciates the connections between and contributions made by formal pupils, staff and parents.

Hiring Process

At Erskine Stewart Melville, our hiring process begins with a two-week advertisement, after which the line managers in the relevant department will shortlist candidates for interviews.

The interview process can vary depending on the role, however, can typically include a panel interview, a tour of the building and grounds, and for teaching positions, a lesson observation and sometimes a written task. Some Administrative roles will also require a written task as part of the interview process.

Once the line manager selects a successful candidate, they will extend a verbal offer. Upon acceptance, HR will follow up with an official written offer via email. This acceptance initiates pre-employment checks, including reference verification, right to work checks, PVG membership application, and the completion of onboarding forms.
